Rydal Penrhos School’s exceptional A Level results in 2021 far exceeded the national averages across the country once again.
Another exceptional year of A Level results for Rydal Penrhos was further reflected in comparison to the annual national averages across the country.
This was an uncertain time for pupils during their studies thanks to COVID-19, but the school’s ability to move with ever-changing times has paid dividends with another incredible set of achievements from our departing Year 13 pupils.
It was a truly collective effort from the entire school community. Staff, pupils and parents all deserve credit for supporting each other in pursuit of the same goal, which was to get the best results possible and secure first-choice university destinations for every member of Year 13, something that was accomplished despite the obvious challenges that arose.
The school’s pass rate at A* was an extraordinary 54.54 per cent, which is 35.44% higher than the national average (19.1%) and 15.04% more than the average attained by independent schools across the country (39.5%) according to figures released by The Society of Heads.
Those securing pass rates of A*-A at Rydal Penrhos rose to 70.5% – 25.7% higher than the national average of 44.8%. There was more good news to celebrate with A*-C grades, with 92% of pupils securing this feat thanks to their sterling commitment throughout their respective A Level modules.
This was a rise of 3.5% compared to the national average achieved in 2021.
Every member of the staff at Rydal Penrhos has a deep commitment to our pupils, and this ethos contributes to a long-standing history of high academic attainment and enhanced progress.
Not only this, but the school provides a diverse extra-curricular and outdoor education provision that builds key skills they don’t necessarily get in the classroom, enhances friendships and also enables each pupil to improve areas such as communication and confidence for good measure.
It’s been another academic year of unprecedented circumstances, but our A Level results testify that the school and the pupils rose to the occasion and took a significant challenge head-on.
Well done to all!
