Christmas Concert 2022 raises hundreds for RNLI
December 21, 2022

Rydal Penrhos raised more than £650 for the RNLI from the annual Christmas Concert, which was well attended and featured marvellous performances.

The Rydal Penrhos community turned out in force for one of the most anticipated dates on a busy schedule over the festive period. Parents, pupils, staff, governors and members of the public descended on St John’s Church for the 2022 Christmas Concert, which featured some glittering performances from our talented vocalists across the school.

Led superbly by the Reverend Dr Rob Beamish, Chaplain of Rydal Penrhos, the concert saw the Prep and Senior Choirs take centre stage with beautiful singing under the expert guidance of Mr Pete Williams and Mr Alan McGuinness, our exceptional Music teachers.

There was also a notable contribution from the Rydal Penrhos Community Choir, which made a welcome return following COVID-19 restrictions and is currently flourishing alongside the Community Wind Band, which continues to thrive with Mr Clive Wolfendale at the helm.

The concert also saw readings from pupils including Head Boy James Copeland and Head Girl Ester Ball-Iversen, with the song under candlelight sending everyone off with plenty of Christmas cheer before their well-deserved break.

A collection for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution was held following the concert. This raised an impressive £650 for the maritime charity, which does such amazing work across North Wales and around the country.

This was a significant sum for a cause that’s been close to Rydal Penrhos for a number of years. We would like to offer our sincerest thanks to everyone that donated and to our performers for putting on such a magnificent musical spectacle.
