Rydal Penrhos is excited to announce that David Evans, Director of Dylan’s, will visit the school on Thursday 25 May 2023 for the school’s second ‘Lunch With…’ event.
This unique initiative provides Rydal Penrhos Senior pupils with the opportunity to engage with successful professionals from a wide range of industries, gaining valuable insights into potential career paths or learning important life lessons that will prove useful in any job or pursuit.
Rydal Penrhos is committed to providing extensive university and career guidance to its pupils. As the academic year draws to a close, and pupils finalize their subject choices or prepare to move on to higher education, this focus becomes even more essential. In the last six weeks alone, the school has welcomed rally driver Jade Paveley to discuss her career in motorsports, and local business leaders and alumni for the inaugural Industry and Enterprise Day.
Now, pupils can look forward to the visit of David Evans, Director of Dylan’s, who will join Rydal Penrhos for the school’s second ‘Lunch With…’ event on Thursday 25 May 2023.
David is a father of five; his youngest son Dylan lives on Anglesey and the others are in Manchester, London and beyond. Having visited Anglesey for over 20 years and enjoying many holidays on the island, he made the move permanently in 2012. Dylan’s is David’s third successful business, with his career spanning over four decades.
Studying in New York in the mid-1980s, he stayed there for three years and shortly after returning home set up his own successful fashion business, the brands Hooch and Bench, which he sold in 2001 with an aim to retire and look after his children. During his ‘retirement’ he set up a small property company in South Manchester, which grew quickly, and he sold the business in 2011.
That same year he started work on Dylan’s with his business partner and lifelong friend, Robin. His wife Jane works alongside him in the business, and you will see her fabulous artwork in and around Dylan’s three restaurants in Criccieth, Menai Bridge and Llandudno.
David loves working with his team at Dylan’s. He is passionate about food, feeding people, and making people feel welcome in the restaurants. We are thrilled that David will be visiting the school and thank him for offering his time to support our pupils.
This is a must-not miss event for Senior pupils to learn about entrepreneurship and life in an incredibly dynamic and diverse industry. We certainly can’t wait!
