Sporting stars at Rydal Penrhos embarked on an immense experience during their half-term tour to The Netherlands.
With sporting fixtures and significant events at Rydal Penrhos back in full swing, the school was delighted to arrange a special Sports Tour to The Netherlands over the half-term break for our senior Hockey and Rugby squads.
The school’s staff devised an action-packed schedule for the tour, which saw the boys and girls involved participate in training sessions and competitive fixtures against Dutch teams. Something that brought out the best in them with memorable performances and results.
Rydal Penrhos’ aspiring athletes have been in tremendous form during the academic year so far, with individuals such as Alex Starling also making a name for himself on the national stage with the Welsh U17 and U18 squads.
These opportunities in state-of-the-art facilities are sure to progress each pupil involved moving forward. Games will resume in earnest up until the Christmas holidays, which includes qualifying events for national championships as Rydal Penrhos looks to add to its rich and proud history of honours.
Those on the tour also got the chance to sample some Dutch culture by visiting prominent landmarks including the Johan Cruijff ArenA – home of five-time Champions League winners AFC Ajax Amsterdam.
This is the latest in a series of exciting tours arranged by the school in recent years, with excursions to Japan, Spain and Ireland among the most memorable highlights that benefitted our pupils considerably.
Rydal Penrhos’ sports tour of The Netherlands was an extremely memorable experience for our hockey and rugby squads, who have done a remarkable job of keeping progress on track alongside their studies despite the recent challenging circumstances due to COVID-19.
