Former Rydal Penrhos head boy Nick Fiorita has moved on to a Masters of Management degree while dedicating hundreds of hours as a Special Police Constable.
Many of us picture pupils in classrooms, outside on the hockey pitch, or in the art or music rooms. We think of the hustle and bustle and sometimes forget that Rydal Penrhos is far more than the current generation of pupils.
We are always thrilled to hear of our former pupils thriving once they leave school. This builds on the exceptional foundations they receive during their time at Rydal Penrhos, with high values and outstanding examination results just a small part of the incredible provision provided.
Nick Fiorita spent the entirety of his education at Rydal Penrhos from 2006-19 and also held the position of Head Boy. He has now moved on to the next stage of his journey after securing a 1st Class Honours degree in Physics with Business from the University of Warwick.
Nick is currently undertaking a Masters of Management degree at Warwick after successfully attaining a scholarship thanks to his impressive attitude and work ethic. He is also continuing with his part-time volunteering with West Midlands Police, where he holds the position of Special Police Constable (First Officer).
This has enabled Nick to secure funding from the College of Policing to help contribute towards his tuition costs. The initiative is relatively new and only 75 officers nationwide achieved this feat in 2022.
The Vice President of the Rydal Penrhos Society also came through a tough application process to join the Roads Policing Team. This is another superb accomplishment from Nick, who will receive specialist training with the stinger, vehicle inspection and much more.
Nick is the first special police constable in his force to complete Traumatic Risk Incident Management. This trains fellow officers to become more aware of their mental health and offers initial support to colleagues who attend particularly traumatising incidents.
We couldn’t be prouder of Nick, who is the embodiment of what can be achieved from a Rydal Penrhos education.
