Rydal Penrhos School enjoyed an Open Day to remember in 2023.
Open Day is always a key date in the Rydal Penrhos Advent Term calendar for current and prospective families alike, with newcomers to the community having an opportunity to see the school while current pupils have the chance to further explore their favourite subjects or activities.
This year, the Rydal Penrhos community is reflecting on the success of an Open Day that introduced the largest number of prospective families to our community in several years.
For parents visiting the Senior School, the journey began in the opulent and historic Osborn Hall. Stepping inside, they were immediately greeted by a captivating archive display, offering a glimpse into the history of our school. In the Prep School, our wonderful Lyndon Library provided the perfect backdrop for the beginning of the journey.
At both the Prep and Senior School, our visitors were treated to wonderfully crafted refreshments, courtesy of our catering team. Events began with the Principal, Mr Hutchinson, extending a warm welcome to all, sharing the values and vision that make Rydal Penrhos a remarkable place for learning and growth.
Our pupils, who are the heart and soul of our school, led the tours. They showcased their passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm, proving themselves as the best ambassadors of our community.
The Senior School’s famous Quad came alive with our talented musicians treating guests to incredible live performances, providing the perfect accompaniment to a series of The Duke of Edinburgh Award, Combined Cadet Force and Sailing activities, showcasing the breadth of opportunities Rydal Penrhos offers.
Across both sites, through dynamic classroom sessions in subjects like Science, History, and Maths, visitors got a taste of the engaging learning experiences we provide. Our athletes were also demonstrating our sporting provision with tremendous effort, as practice sessions played out on the Plateau and in the Fitness Suite.
We extend our thanks to our dedicated staff and incredible pupils for their hard work and dedication in making this Open Day an extraordinary representation of our school community. Similarly, we would like to thank all the prospective pupils and parents who joined us. It was a day filled with warmth, enthusiasm, and the spirit of community that defines Rydal Penrhos.
