Rydal Penrhos Prep School teacher Louise Devilleforte will be contributing to a major charity event.
Staff and pupils at Rydal Penrhos are always looking for ways to raise awareness and funds for worthy causes throughout the region and beyond.
This has been a part of the school’s ethos throughout history and as a registered charity, Rydal Penrhos also offers fully-funded places for pupils every year from within the state school system, which are based on academic ability and financial eligibility.
Another fine example of this is the upcoming event involving Prep School teacher Louise Devilleforte, who is joining a major charity challenge at the end of the month for The Walking Women, a group that was set-up to get more people active during the coronavirus pandemic and to open up about any problems they may be experiencing.
Mrs Devilleforte is a much-loved and respected teacher at Rydal Penrhos, who demonstrates care and exceptional methods of teaching that are prevalent across all areas of the school.
The charity challenge involves the group targeting 1,000 miles over a three-day period from Friday 26 March until Sunday 28. They are raising money for the Wellbeing of Women, which is a charity that invests in pioneering research into women’s health.
Walking will be done individually or in pairs/small groups subject in accordance with current restrictions surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, with Mrs Devilleforte hoping to contribute 30 miles over the three days to assist the cause.
The Walking Women also consists of Natasha Still, who is a former Rydal Penrhos pupil along with her sister Victoria and was set-up with the aim of increasing awareness of female health conditions, taking away the taboo from speaking about symptoms and raising money in support of relevant charities.
Everyone at Rydal Penrhos wishes Mrs Devilleforte, Natasha, Victoria and everybody involved with the Walking Women every bit of success with their charity challenge later this month.
They have already raised more than £750 of their initial £1,000 target. Anyone that wishes to donate can do so here.
