Rydal Penrhos Prep School skiers were visited by a special guest during their final session of the autumn term.
A number of Rydal Penrhos Prep School pupils got an early visit from Father Christmas but this time he was on skis!
To mark the last skiing session before the Christmas break, Santa Claus joined Rydal Penrhos pupils at the Snowsports Centre in Llandudno in recognition of their incredible efforts since being permitted to make a welcome return to the slopes under strict COVID-19 guidelines.
During his surprise visit, Santa dished out some presents and prizes to the pupils, and also successfully made it down the course unscathed to the delight of the pupils.
Pupils decorated their helmets in festive attire as they headed down the slopes for the last time this year, under the watchful eye of the instructors at the slope and some of Rydal Penrhos’ incredible staff team.
The winners of this year’s ‘Decorate your Ski Helmet’ competition were Jack Brookes-Fazakerley, Svaksh Singam and Adhira Nimilan, but every pupil deserves a tremendous amount of credit for dressing up their helmets with some eye-catching festive creations.
Rydal Penrhos Prep School uses its stunning location on the North Wales coast to offer skiing to pupils at a very young age and this is something most of them take advantage of.
The skiing programme at the school has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years, with notable success in both regional and national competitions across the country since the provision was launched.
