Rydal Penrhos Prep School skiers benefit from expert coaching.
Some members of the Rydal Penrhos Prep School ski squad got the opportunity to test their skills and learn from some top coaches at one of the region’s most prominent skiing venues recently.
No fewer than ten pupils hit the slopes at the outstanding Llandudno Snowsports Centre for a two-day training camp with Impulse Racing, an alpine training organisation based in the UK that run lessons, sessions, days and courses for adults, children and schools across the country.
Those taking part in the coaching weekend were Freddie Griffin, Tom Sinfield, Beatrice Brookes-Fazakerley, Oakley Calvert, Ella Craig, Jack Brookes-Fazakerley, Wilfred Jones, Jack Brookes-Fazakerley, Felix Griffin and Martha-Rose Johnson, who all got a tremendous amount out of the experience.
One of the primary objectives of the weekend was to improve technique, with gate training another key skill practised. Indeed the whole weekend proved to be a very informative and worthwhile experience for the aspiring skiing stars.
Each pupil had a significant amount of fun and learned plenty of useful tricks of the trade to help them improve their respective skills in the weeks, months and years to come.
Rydal Penrhos’ ski squad has enjoyed a phenomenal amount of success in recent years, with the provision another fine example of using the school’s stunning location on the North Wales coast to benefit its pupils.
Both prep and senior skiers have come away with national success from the Welsh Schools’ Championships in recent years, with many also making their presence felt at the British level thanks to their sterling commitment.
