Rydal Penrhos senior school pupils arranged a special charity Tug-of-War in aid of Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice in Conwy.

We are very proud of the charitable work conducted by pupils and staff throughout the academic year at Rydal Penrhos. This is something promotes the school’s proud ethos, with meticulous planning for various initiatives providing much-needed funds that go towards worthy causes across the North Wales area and beyond.

In addition to events put on by the school, pupils also demonstrate a keen eagerness to hold fundraising events of their own. This is a testament to their caring nature and the high morals installed in each pupil as part of a well-rounded education at Rydal Penrhos.

One cause that forms a huge part of the school’s charity efforts is Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice in Conwy. Rydal Penrhos raises thousands for the vital facility and another worthwhile occasion just before the Christmas break bolstered this annual total contribution.

Senior School pupils came together to arrange a charity tug-of-war event, which took place in the Sports Hall on the final day of term. Teams were able to test their strength against others for a donation, with a large number of the Rydal Penrhos community watching in support.

In a surprise to most pupils, the staff also put together a tug-of-war team. The mixture of teachers and support staff proved a difficult obstacle to overcome, which brought an extra sense of competitiveness and excitement to the charity event.
