Former Rydal Penrhos pupil Joe Simpson has re-signed with RGC 1404 for a tenth season with the Principality Premiership club.
During his time at the school, Joe Simpson was one of the Rydal Penrhos Rugby Academy originals. The gifted forward benefitted significantly from the programme and the education provided by staff, which enabled him to play a significant role in RGC 1404‘s remarkable rise up the Welsh domestic pyramid into the Principality Premiership.
Simpson has racked up almost 200 appearances for the Gogs during an incredible career. The player recently revealed he has signed a new deal with the Parc Eirias-based side for a 10th campaign in the famous black shirt.
Buzzing to re/sign for a 10th season.

This represents another notable milestone for the front row presence, who will be tasked with producing the goods on the pitch and emerging as a leadership presence within the dressing room.
He is now one of RGC’s longest-serving players and one of many former Rydal Penrhos pupils who have spearheaded the Gogs’ charge since the team’s inception.
Talented players such as Efan Jones and Dan Owen are now key members of the squad after earning Wales U18 honours at Rydal Penrhos. Others to feature heavily for RGC include Dion Jones, Mei Parry and Sean Lonsdale, who has since gone on to play for Exeter Chiefs and recently signed for the Dragons.
Simpson has also made noticeable strides in the coaching world to further boost his credentials. He’s been the driving force behind exciting developments at Bangor Rugby Club in recent years and is now the Head of Rugby at Bangor University.
Everyone at Rydal Penrhos would like to wish Joe and RGC the very best of luck for their 2022/23 campaign. We’re confident you’ll continue to do the region proud.
