Rydal Penrhos Senior School pupils braved freezing temperatures at the annual Inter-House Cross-Country Championships.
One of the highlights of the sporting calendar took place at Rydal Penrhos this week, with pupils in Years 7-13 testing their mettle at the annual Senior School Inter-House Cross-Country Championships.
This event saw eager runners tackle the school’s testing course in freezing temperatures, which they accomplished in impressive fashion en route to securing valuable points for their respective houses.
It was fantastic to see such a heart-warming atmosphere, with pupils across every year group involved giving their all and encouraging others throughout – a true sign of community spirit that is evident on a daily basis at Rydal Penrhos.
The intermediate girls’ race saw Lily Copeland cross the line in first, followed swiftly by Fflur Pierce and Charlotte Payne in second and third respectively. Ben Sinfield finished first in the intermediate boys’ category, with Finlay Perry in second and Cameron Pye rounding off the podium places.
A hugely competitive senior boys’ race was won by Gabriel Speakman, who triumphed over Will Tavernor (2nd) and Edward Altoft (3rd). Lily Davies emerged victorious from the senior girls’ event, with Eloise Chapman in second and Elin Naunton-Morgan in third.
After the final points were tallied, Osborn House came away with bragging rights.
- Osborn House
- Wesley House
- Morgan House
- Payne House
Testing their limits in and out of the classroom gives pupils confidence and improved self-esteem. Not only this, but they take a significant amount of pride in their accomplishments and development outside of their comfort zone.
A huge well done to everyone involved on your exceptional commitment.
