Staff and pupils at Rydal Penrhos took to the stage for a festive singing competition prior to the break.
The much-anticipated Rydal Penrhos Inter-House Christmas Singing competition took place on Wednesday 14 December, which saw Wesley, Osborn, Payne and Morgan compete for vital points as their quest for the Yeung Bowl House Cup at the end of the academic year continues in earnest.
Each house worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to the showcase during a frantic period of rehearsals under the supervision of Sixth Form house captains and staff, which came across with humorous performances full of creativity.
There was also a special song from the school’s staff, who didn’t have time to rehearse!
The competition was judged by the exceptional eyes and ears of Mr Pete Williams, Head of Music at Rydal Penrhos. After a hugely entertaining morning, Osborn House emerged with a well-deserved win, finishing just one point ahead of Wesley House and Morgan House, who came joint second.
Payne House rounded off the places, four points off the eventual victors.
Mr Williams, said: “The standard of our Inter-House Christmas Singing event seems to get higher every year, and once again it was a wonderful demonstration of the vocal and musical talent we have at Rydal Penrhos.
“It was a hard job coming up with an overall winner such was the quality of each performance. I would like to offer my congratulations not only to Osborn House but to all pupils and staff that took part and made the competition such a roaring success.”
