A Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos supported a Prep School extra-curricular club that promotes creative writing.
The strong community feel across Rydal Penrhos is evident across all year groups. Our staff and pupils work in close partnership to ensure their goals are met and often exceeded with academic development, extra-curricular progress and exceptional examination results.
Sixth Formers at Rydal Penrhos are always eager to put their educational experience to good use. This comes throughout the school’s various leadership positions and initiatives during a busy academic year across the school.
Year 13 pupils have been busy preparing for their upcoming A Level examinations, but one individual selflessly gave up his time to assist within a Prep School club that actively promotes creative writing. Something that’s already been a big hit with those participating in the extra-curricular provision.
The Everyone’s a Writer Club takes place every Tuesday and involves Prep pupils of varying ages. However, they all have something in common.
They are about to become published authors!
Throughout the term, the aspiring writers were tasked with planning their own stories under the watchful eye of Mrs Martin. This has been a long, enjoyable process with some incredible growth.
The club received a special visitor this week when Tristan Martin, a Year 13 pupil who is also joint-Deputy Head Boy, spent time with the group to see what they’ve been up to.
During Tristan’s stay with the club, he listened to their ideas and gave them a helping hand regarding story structure at an important stage of the process. An invaluable experience for the Prep pupils and one that will assist greatly in the near future.
Pupils are hoping to get all of their stories together next term, along with some authors from the Senior School, and publish their own book. We look forward to seeing the final product and thank Tristan for giving up his time.
