Snowdon triumph at 2022 Prep Cross-Country
November 21, 2022

Snowdon managed to claim bragging rights from Rydal Penrhos Prep School’s annual inter-house Cross-Country Championships.

One of the most competitive events on the sporting calendar was held as Year 3-6 pupils took to the school’s plateau for Rydal Penrhos’ annual Prep Inter-House Cross-Country Championships. This was a fantastic display of camaraderie and spirit, with everyone involved giving their absolute all in pursuit of winning some valuable points for their houses.

House spirit is something our pupils take a great deal of pride in. Events have been plentiful throughout the academic year, with pupils working hard to attain valuable points in pursuit of the overall house cup for 22/23.

Aspiring cross-country runners tackled the two-kilometre course which consisted of hills and muddy conditions. However, each pupil tackled this challenge with their customary enthusiasm and commitment, encouraging their housemates along the way.

Parents and staff members were also in attendance to lend their support. After a hugely competitive morning, Snowdon House secured a well-deserved victory, with captain Archie picking up the coveted trophy alongside other pupils during Assembly on Friday 18 November.

Those who achieved individual accolades were also acknowledged. Immie and Jacob M clocked the fastest times in Year 3, with Phoebe and Olly winning their respective Year 4 categories.

A rousing effort from Toby saw him crowned Year 5 winner and had the fastest overall time of any Prep pupil. Holly’s performance was outstanding en route to the Year 5 girls’ title.

In the Year 6 event, Harrison S and Connie came away first as a result of their exceptional efforts, rounding off yet another fantastic occasion.

Congratulations to the winners and to every Rydal Penrhos pupil that gave their all. We’re very proud of you!
