Success in golf depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind and character.

The Rydal Penrhos School Golf Academy was founded in 2016 and has achieved a considerable amount in a short space of time.

Our short game area provides the perfect platform for our pupils to hone their skills within a school setting, and the site was officially opened by Ladies’ European Tour professional Amy Boulden.

Rydal Penrhos has also formed a partnership with nearby North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno for specialist youth coaching at the site.

Rydal Penrhos’ golf teams compete locally, nationally and internationally as well as taking part in inter-school fixtures, both home and away, on a regular basis, phenomenal success.

This includes the Team Nett title at the Independent Schools Golf Association Scottish Open, held at the Kings Acre Golf Club, Midlothian.

The school also reached the ISGA National Matchplay Championships after securing the Northern Area title, with Reuben Bather and Charley Simpson securing national recognition with competition wins and Wales selections.

Rydal Penrhos’ facilities include driving nets, an all-weather green, and bunkers that present different challenging scenarios around the green.

The facility offers pupils the opportunity to try their hand at golf or to hone the essential short-game skills that make such an incredible difference to any player’s game.

Expert tuition is provided by Robin Hughes at North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno for all ages and abilities that has proved most popular.

Pupils have access to the facilities in their spare time, and they can practice and receive additional 1:1 tuition on site.
