A talented young musician at Rydal Penrhos has been rewarded for her outstanding preparation with a tremendous music grading result.
Erin Smith, a Year 9 pupil at the school, recently sat her Grade 5 Music Theory assessment prior to the coronavirus closure, which was administered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
The teenager worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to the grading and was rewarded with a superb final result, securing a Distinction for her efforts.
This came from an eye-catching overall mark of 94 per cent, and Erin will now begin working on securing further examination successes in the future upon returning to school.
The pupil is a relative newcomer to the Rydal Penrhos family after enrolling in January. She has immersed herself well into all areas of school life during the first few weeks of her education at the school.
Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “Erin has settled in tremendously well at Rydal Penrhos and we are absolutely thrilled she has attained such an impressive mark.
“Hopefully this is just the start of great things to come from Erin, who has grasped the theoretical aspect of music extremely well in a short space of time.
“I am very much looking forward to working with Erin in the future on achieving even more.”
