Music Matters: Shruthi
March 9, 2020

This special feature centres on Rydal Penrhos’ incredible music department and the pupils that are thriving under the expert leadership of Pete Williams.

Shruthi Ganapathi (Year 11)

A supremely talented individual who has secured a host of outstanding accolades, Shruthi joined Rydal Penrhos as a Year 7 pupil in 2015 and has become one of the school’s most impressive vocalists.

The pupil has been a huge part of the Rydal Penrhos community and has excelled both from an academic perspective and through the large range of extra-curricular opportunities on offer.

Shruthi boasts plenty of experience on stage and was part of the superb Dramatic Society production of Annie the Musical, and she also lent her considerable talent to the RPS Showstopper event.

She also managed to take on a series of roles during the exceptional production of Les Miserables last year to further boost her experience in front of an audience.

The pupil’s contribution during the annual Christmas Concert was also a source of great pride, with Shruthi performing an individual solo and a quartet piece alongside her peers with aplomb.

Shruthi received Higher Exemplar honours from Rydal Penrhos’ inaugural Creative and Performing Arts dinner, and she has also achieved a number of Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music thanks to her hard work and commitment.

This includes a Grade 5 Piano assessment success, and Shruthi is thriving academically under the guidance and support of dedicated staff at the school.

She is about to embark on her GCSE examinations and has secured some notable achievements from recent London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art assessments.
