Pre-School children at Rydal Penrhos began another special initiative at a Colwyn Bay care home this week.
The youngest members of the Prep School community made the short trip down Pwllycrochan Avenue to Merton Place on Monday, September 16, which is their first visit to the site of the academic year.
During their opening visit to the site, the children sang songs, played games and chatted to staff and residents during a hugely entertaining stay.
This will be the first of many visits to the facility in the coming months, with the initiative strengthening links between Rydal Penrhos and the nearby community.
It is carrying on from the fine involvement between Rydal Penrhos and Merton Place last year, which saw the Pre-School group visit the site on numerous occasions over a prolonged period of time.
The school also performs a special Christmas Carol Concert for residents over the festive period featuring members of the Prep and Senior School choir.
Prep School Head Lucy Davies, said: “We are very proud of our strong community links here at Rydal Penrhos, and our Pre-School visits to Merton Place are mutually beneficial and something everyone involved gets an enormous amount out of.
“Hopefully this is a trend that can continue long into the future and I would like to thank all staff and residents at Merton Place for making our young children feel most welcome.”
