Rydal Penrhos has earned a prestigious new award; the latest positive milestone as our school strives to support service families and veterans across North Wales.
Rydal Penrhos is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the Armed Forces Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award; one of only nineteen employers in Wales to have received the award this year. This award follows closely on the heels of the school being awarded the Bronze Award in the Armed Forces Friendly Schools Cymru initiative.
“We work closely with our forces families to ensure that whenever they join us at Rydal Penrhos they feel welcome and supported,” said Maria McLean, Admissions and Marketing Manager.
“Our links at RAF Valley, the Royal Navy Engagement Team and also the Queen’s Dragoon Guards mean that our pupils have enjoyed a host of activities during this academic year and we are always delighted to welcome members of the armed forces into school. We are also immensely proud of our Combined Cadet Force who are the only CCF sponsored by the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards”
Representatives of the regiment recently visited our annual Senior Speech Day and a dedicated CCF celebration day in May, during which the Regimental Engagement Team led a series of Command and Leadership activities for Prep and Senior pupils.
Rydal Penrhos is proud of the veterans who are part of both our academic and support teams, who continue to inspire pupils to the highest levels of achievement in academic, sporting, and extra-curricular pursuits.
Principal Tom Hutchinson stated, “We are incredibly proud to receive the Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award. This accolade underscores our unwavering commitment to supporting service personnel and acknowledging the invaluable contributions of our armed forces community. Rydal Penrhos will continue to warmly welcome service personnel and their families into our community.”
