Rydal Penrhos School is delighted to announce that talented Year 12 pupil, Kenan Buckley, has been awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship.
At Rydal Penrhos, a core part of our mission is to open doors of opportunity for our pupils. Kenan’s success in securing the Arkwright Scholarship is the latest example of this. Awarded after a highly competitive selection process, and sponsored by the South Wales Institute of Engineers Educational Trust, the scholarship offers a wealth of opportunities to its select recipients.
As an Arkwright Scholar, Kenan will benefit from 1-to-1 mentorship, networking events (both in person and online), and access to a range of enrichment resources designed to inspire future engineers.
These experiences will support Kenan throughout his A-Levels, laying a strong foundation as he prepares for further studies in engineering, computing, or technology.
Kenan’s achievement is a reflection not only of his dedication and hard work but also of the exceptional STEM education provided at Rydal Penrhos.
From the age of five, our pupils begin weekly STEM lessons that science, mathematics, and technology. The consistent focus on STEM skills and knowledge that runs through the school is evidenced by our recent exam results success. At GCSE, Computer Science candidates achieved a 100% A* rate.
