Rydal Penrhos is proud to announce that its talented skiiers have secured the title of Welsh Schools U12 National Champions.

Following recent success at the ISA National Championships, we are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our Rydal Penrhos ski team at the recently concluded Welsh School Ski Championships, which took place in Llangrannog over the weekend of Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October 2023.

Determined to build on their latest haul of silverware, our pupils showcased incredible talent and determination throughout the competition, leaving their mark on the slopes and bringing home a remarkable collection of medals.

Alongside a range of individual achievements, the Rydal Penrhos ‘A’ team (Wilfred Jones, William Oliver, Camilla Simmons, Phoebe Jewsbury) earned the impressive distinction of being named Welsh National Champions. Defeating some of the best schools in the country on the way to a first place finish, the Rydal Penrhos team etched their names in the history books with a truly outstanding performance.

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the medal winners, and also commend Hannah Pittaway and Harrison Simmons, whose outstanding performances, although just missing out on medals, truly made us proud.

In addition to their impressive skiing endeavours, our pupils had the opportunity to enjoy the stunning surroundings of Llangrannog. On Saturday morning, they ventured to Poppit Sands for some beach games, creating wonderful memories under the autumn sun. To cap off the day, an enjoyable pizza and movie night brought everyone together, strengthening the bonds within our fantastic ski team.
